Nel Gran Premio d'Austria, Bagnaia è riuscito a conquistare la pole position e a conquistare la sua quinta vittoria dell'anno, dopo il successo nella volata di sabato. Come pilota del team Ducati, Bagnaia ha accumulato un notevole vantaggio e ha tagliato il traguardo con 5,191 secondi di vantaggio sul pilota sudafricano Brad Binder, in sella a una moto KTM. Anche Marco Bezzecchi, un altro italiano in sella a una Ducati, ha ottenuto un ottimo risultato, chiudendo al terzo posto.
