In de Grand Prix van Oostenrijk pakte Bagnaia de pole position en claimde zijn vijfde overwinning van het jaar, na zijn succes in de sprint van zaterdag. Als Ducati-fabrieksteamrijder bouwde Bagnaia een aanzienlijke voorsprong op en kwam 5,191 seconden voor de Zuid-Afrikaan Brad Binder op een KTM-motor over de streep. Marco Bezzecchi, een andere Italiaan op een Ducati, was ook sterk en eindigde op de derde plaats.
